So I know it's Saturday again but this was the first day this week I've been on Pinterest! Crazy to think I know! But I found a few things I can share with you! :)
I think this is a great alternative to the traditional ink stamper!
I love to travel and learning new tricks is always great.
These recycled glass counter tops are an interesting change from the usual granite. I wonder if it would be easy to keep clean... hmm.
I just love this and will be putting this in my future home!
You'll be hearing from me again tomorrow with my plan for the rest of the blog this year! :)
Okay so I know that the title says Friday and it's Saturday... let's just say I got distracted with other tasks yesterday and forgot to include this post on my to-do list. Oops! As promised in my other post this week, today's Pinterest post is dedicated to the treats I made when I did my Christmas baking. Enjoy!
**Click on the photo to be taken to the link.
Soft Almond Sugar Cookies - probably one of my favorites!
Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark. This didn't work out the best for us but it is really good!
Avalanche Bars - so good!
Red Velvet Cheesecake Cookies. Ours didn't turn out as pretty as these because they were probably the hardest cookie we made. They are rich and wonderful but one is plenty!
Christmas White Trash. I love the name and it's really good!
Mint Chocolate Chip Bark. I love mint and this is so easy to make!
Peanut Butter Cheerio Treats. Easy and delicious (I may have even eaten some of these for breakfast a time or two haha)
Peanut Butter Cup Cookies. So I planned these forgetting that I did not have a pan to make the cups in so we had to make them regular cookies and pushed the PB cups into the cookie while warm. Still taste yummy! :)
This fudge is super easy!!! In the recipe, I left out the cream because I didn't have any on hand but it turned out perfectly! Love fudge! :)
Toffee Chocolate Crispy Cookies. I found these on one of my favorite blogs (Hi Courtney!) These were the cookies I made the day after because we ran out of time. I made them more bite size but these would be another of my favorites! :)
Peppermint Snickerdoodles. Okay, so for these cookies I did something a little different. I didn't want to use prepackaged sugar cookies, so I used my mom's snickerdoodle recipe. Then when it came to the peppermint part I used Andes Peppermint Crunch candy instead of crushing candy canes and I put it in the batter instead of just rolling the batter in it with the cinnamon and sugar. Hope that made sense ;)
If any of you are wondering about particular recipes or ones that weren't from Pinterest, just let me know!
Do you bake for holidays? What are your favorite recipes?
Hey everyone! So sorry I've been MIA the past week and a half or so... it's been a crazy end to my fall semester! Now that I am on Christmas break (it's hard to believe), I will be more present on my blog! I have a long Christmas break to-do list to tackle but a lot of it is holiday-related or things I've been wanting to do in the free time I haven't had. One thing I'm excited about is making my plans for the blog for next year! I have some great ideas but I'm going to keep you guys hanging for now but I promise I'll fill you in before the new year gets here :)
Now for the subject of this post. I've found some great things on Pinterest lately and want to share some of them with you! I hope you enjoy!
A lot of college students (and ordinary adults as well) can't afford a gym membership, and they might not like exercising in front of others. This is a great alternative!
Isn't it so cute!
I've been drinking a lot of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate lately, with it being a bit chillier out, and this feeds my love of all kinds of mugs! Right now, my mugs are all sitting in a cabinet and this would be a great way to show off the ones I have at such easy access.
I just love the modern cottage look!
Right now I'm using a long clear tub that is awkward to carry. This holder would make lugging gift wrap and all its components back and forth much easier! (Although the link goes to Zulily, I'm sure this is sold in any kind of department store)
This outfit would be perfect for teaching! Stylish yet simple and easy to wear.
Have a great weekend everyone! I know I'll be relaxing and taking some time for myself. My roommate is walking at the graduation commencement ceremony tomorrow morning and I'm so happy for her! Hi Marci! :) Any weekend plans?
Today is truly a HAPPY FRIDAY!! Today marked the first day of our Thanksgiving break!!!!! YAYYYYYY! Here's to a full week off of classes (sadly, no necessarily homework) and taking time to rejuvenate before finals comes around. To start my break off, I'll be heading to Iowa City to visit one of my really good friends, Mackenzie!! I haven't seen her in almost a year :( and it is clearly overdue! (I just realized how much I am using exclamation points but I'm just so excited haha)
Any excited plans for you over the weekend?
Anyone celebrate a week-long Thanksgiving break too? :)
I hope you enjoy my Pinterest finds from this week! :)
Scarves have become my favorite accessory and this one is great because it has a great pattern but also enough variety of color to wear with almost anything :)
I love this DIY because it is so simple but has a great effect! It would work for a party decoration, night light, or any creative use.
I am a HUGE fan of Rachael Ray and she just released her first hardcover book! It is literally a year of meals her and her husband John made in their home for family and friends. She gives over 500 recipes with home photos AND if the book is flipped over, you will see her co-author (her husband!) wrote "My Year in Cocktails," which provides over 100 recipes :) On store shelves now!
This website showed 31 things that can be put in the freezer, which is perfect for me because sometimes I'm not sure if things can be froze or not. Great source!
What can I say?!? How cute is this puppy? :D
Have a great weekend!!!
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posts this week. It's been crazy over here with constant studying for my 4 tests and it didn't help that our internet was down for 2 days! (Not very convenient as a college student)
Last weekend, I had my anniversary with Cody and we had a wonderful day together :)
This weekend we have a wedding to go to and the rest of the time will be relaxing and productive.
There's something I want to share before I do my Pinterest Friday that was brought to my attention by one of my favorite bloggers Courtney and I completely agree with her!
Check out this video from Good Morning America addressing the magazine article featuring Jennifer Lawrence, the actress from The Hunger Games.Jennifer shares in the article that she is seen as "fat" and "obese" in the eyes of Hollywood. Umm... have you seen her?!?
Came from the same source as the video linked above
This girl is so beautiful! I do not see how this is "fat." Our standards of beauty have altered so much over time and I think it is way to extreme!! How does this make you feel?
Here are my favorite pins from the week! Enjoy!
I am a sucker for a cute engagement video, but this one was so beautiful! It just made me happy and smile and even shed a couple tears :)
I've really been trying to get back into the routine of working out and making healthier choices. These wise words are something I need to remember! Thanks Ashley for the post (which includes a walking workout that I'm looking forward to trying!)
I love looking at homes and all the character they hold. This room is beautiful with the barnwood floors, rafter ceiling, and stone fireplace. I would love this kind of look in my home :)
I would definitely not call myself a morning person. Because of this, sometimes I don't want to get out of bed and actually turn my alarm off while in partial sleep. This alarm clock only turns off if you step on it... I REALLY need this!
This is a dessert that Courtney from the blog Sweet Tooth Sweet Life (one of my favorites!) and it looks so delicious! I have a such a sweet tooth! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!! :)
